About submitting plans to council

Different information will need to be provided for different types of permit applications and might include site plans, floor plans or elevation drawings.

When planning permits are granted, they will usually include an “endorsement” of the plans submitted with the planning application. These form a part of the conditions of the permit, and any changes to the plans will also need to be endorsed by council. This means the use or the buildings and works must be exactly as shown on the endorsed plans. Further, any building permit issued must be consistent with the requirements of the planning permit, including written conditions and endorsed plans.

If you’re council doesn’t accept electronic versions of plans, then usually three copies of the plans must be submitted to the councils with your application.
